Voice Over

Narration Defined

Narration comes in various forms. This may include documentaries, crime shows, educational kids shows, news reports, cooking how to’s, etc. Typically the voiceover is meant to be a descriptor for what is happening on screen and be a supporting factor to the plot line. For example, in a nature documentary the voiceover may be describing what role an animal plays in the ecosystem. In a crime show, it may discuss background history of the criminal. Sometimes the voiceover is a bit more direct, such as in a how to episode where the narrator is giving specific directions to the audience, or in a children’s educational program where the narrator is asking a question to the young audience to keep them engaged. Professional narration aids in helping the audience understand the content, while also being interesting and engaging to keep them watching.

Compelling Voiceover For Narration

A professional narrator can take your production above and beyond. Consider this: a documentary, or a news report, or an educational program with a lackluster voiceover may come across sounding more like a lecture and may quickly lose the attention of your audience. Without professional voiceover, viewers may be left confused by what’s happening on screen or may be unaware of vital background information. Hiring a professional narrator supports the on screen content and keeps viewers coming back for future episodes.
